This new build triplex apartment required an interior design, practical enough for a family of five across its three floors: ground, basement and sub-basement. Although it was not a primary residence, it was paramount that the apartment was a haven of peace and calm – a refuge from the bustling city at the client’s doorstep.

A neutral palette with accents of colour features throughout the communal areas and master suite, with more vibrant colours in the children’s bedrooms. The master suite is an oasis of serenity with soft, luxurious fabrics and finishes throughout. One of the curtains is sheer lace, casting the most beautiful shadows as the light shines through.

“A feeling of handcrafted was key to the client’s vision. The bedside tables in the master suite are from are very own FBC London City Collection; the rustic hand-chipped oak fronts add contrast to the silk carpet and textured plaster wall”

Bespoke joinery included a cabinet at the foot of the stairs with detailing inspired by the metal casting trays that are used in the bronze-casting process. The external finish is a smooth dark chocolate oak with a contrasting vibrant orange interior. All technology is cleverly kept out of sight; for example, the television is concealed in a bespoke unit finished with white grey walnut and bronze detailing, in keeping with the modern aesthetic.
